Angels Are Watching

Angels - Celestial beings, heavenly host, God's messengers.

      Angels are they real or fiction? Or, are they just some mythical creatures from long ago?  I personally believe that Angels exist, not just because the bible says so but because I have had a close encounter with the heavenly kind.  Here's my story: It was one winter night, my family and I  had gone to bed.  Before I went to sleep; I prayed a prayer asking God to place his Angels around my family to keep us all safe as we slept.  I went to sleep along with my husband and our then 6 children. 
      Sometime later I was awaken, something or someone drew me toward our living room.  I walked up toward the center of the room, I felt like there was a force of some kind trying to pull me down to the floor.  I fought it; I felt an urge to wake up my husband. He wouldn't wake up; I persistly pulled at him and said; baby get up! We have to get the children out of the house.  Finally, he moved, but he keep passing out, I kept pulling on him until  we began to quickly get our 6 children out of the house. We took them out through the back door because we couldn't go out the front.
     Well, I am happy to say that we all survived.  What it turned out to be was; that earlier that day we had a gas heater installed in our house.  It was not installed properly, so carbon dioxide had escaped from it and that was the force that I was fighting.  As everyone knows, you can not smell carbon dioxide. I didn't smell anything I could feel it and God lead me to get my family out.  We should all be dead, but God did exactly that I asked him to do that night.  He put his Angels around us and protected my whole family.  So, I truly believe that Angels do exist and that they are watching over us everyday.  If you have had an experience with Angels, I would love to have you share it here on my blog. Favorite Things to Do for Christmas

Hi everyone, Let's talk about our favorite things to do for Christmas.  I will start, I like to hang stockings and Christmas cards on the front of my kitchen island. I like to light candles and say a prayer on Christmas eve and say happy birthday to Jesus. I like to bake Christmas cookies and open one present at midnight on Christmas day. I like singing Christmas carol and reading the passage from the bible about Christ birth  Tell me what are some of your favorite things to do for Christmas in the comments below.  I will be looking forward to hearing from you. I'm a big fan of chick lit so the short stories are outside my normal genre. Nevertheless, I did find the stories interesting. I gave the book five stars because I loved the poetry. It was very inspirational and heartfelt.

A very sweet book filled with short stories and poems written in an easy to read understandable way. This book is nspiring and the stories read well. It is a family book because it is non offensive, sensitive and offers a lot to learn in terms of morals and values. The author writes very subtlely where at points I could almost imagine a slight whisper as I coul hear the words in my head.She is very descriptive at points and there are messages to her stories.

Today is Sunday November the 24th 2013, it is a day that we have not seen before and it is a day that we will never see again.  I thank the Lord for blessing it when he created it.  Hi everyone, God has seen fit to bless us all with another day.  I give him thanks and praise, for he did not have to do it.  God is a good God and worthy to be praised.  Praise him in the morning and praise him in the noon day and praise him all night long.  He is Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end.  He is omnipresent and omnipotent, he is all powerful.  So, stop what you are doing right now and praise him with your whole heart and you whole mind body and spirit.  Praise Jesus, Praise Jesus, forever.  God Bless!

It's My Birthday

Hi everyone, yesterday was my 56th birthday.  I had a good one, my parents took me shopping and  bought me a new coat.  I danced and I laughed, it was a very good day.  It is a blessing to still have my mother and my father still alive and well.  I just love them both so much; bless their little hearts.  I am totally spoiled rotten and I love every minute of it.  Here's a picture of me and underneath is a picture of my granddaughter, and the last one is my mother, its she beautiful, she is 82 yrs old.

How are you all doing today, I would love to hear from you.  Just leave a comment hear on my blog are inbox me on my Facebook page.  I love to talk to other authors, we can share tips on how to publish our work or marketing tidbits.  I have been writing since 2007, I got a late start at it.  After the death of my husband back in 2006, my life took a new direction.  God lead me in to writing; that's when I wrote my first book called 'No Separate Roses".  It was published in 2008.  It is a collection of poetry which have a rap flare to them with each containing an inspirational message.  You still can find it on the web at just about all the book sites, like Amazon, books million, Barnes and nobles and good reads.  You can also read some samples of my writing hear on my blog under the writing tab.  I am still learning new things so I welcome any help or suggestions what anyone may have.  I want to get my writings out there, not because of fame and fortune. But because I have a message to bring to the masses, a message of hope and love and kindness. Writing again

Hi everyone, it is me again.  How are you doing today? I am blessed and highly favored of the Lord.  Well, I don't know whether anyone has been noticing it are not, but I have not been writing much these days and I just don't mean on my blog.  I haven't been writing any books or poems for about 8 months now.  But, I am happy to report that a few days ago I wrote a poem that I think is pretty good, even if I must say so myself.  Now, that is just one woman's opinion; that's why I would like to know what you think about it.  So, I am going to post a part of it here on my blog for all to read it.  You can let me know what you think by coming by my Facebook book page and let me know what you think and while you are there please click like for my page if you have not done so already.  If I get a good responds, I just may reveal the rest of the poem.  Peace out and much Love to all.

Here's hoping that you all have had a super terrific day today.   Mines was great! I spent the whole day at the doctor's. I had an appointment for a follow up and ended up with a bunch of shots, but it is all good.  I also had to go early this morning with my mother for her colonoscopy, yipes!!! That was not any fun especially not for my mother.  But, all is well, she came thru it like a trooper; that's my mom for you a great lady.  She is kind and loving and has a great sense of humor; just the most beautiful woman that I know. She is my hero, she is strong and intelligent and full of grace.  When people meet her they don't even know that she is blind.  That is right, totally and completely,  she has been that way for most of her life.  The amazing thing about her is that she did not let that stop her from doing anything that she wanted to do.  She cooked clean and took care of her three children.  She did everything but drive a car.  Even, with that she could tell you what route to take to get to California from Birmingham and back.  She is 82 years old now and still an inspiration to us all.  So, I would like to say to everyone who is middle aged and you are still blessed to have your mother and father here on this earth with you.  Stop right for a moment and take the time to call and say I love you, if you have not done so today, are if your parents live with you go give them the biggest hug you have ever given them.  I love you mom and dad; and thank you for all that you do for us.  God Bless you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! Today is a very special day, 26 years ago on this very day, I gave birth too two of the most precious and beautiful bouncing baby boy twins.  They took their place as number 5 and number 6 in our family.  Oh my, I just notice that their order of birth numbers adds up to 11 and they were born in the 11 month on the 11 day, that is amazing and also I will be 56 on 11/20/13  Wow! that interesting.  Well, I just wanted to share that with my blog friends and family

I Am Only Human

Well, I did it again.  It has been 8 days since I wrote on my blog.  It was not my intention to do so, I allowed myself to be distracted by other things.  I will do better, I will not give up.  I am only human, we do drop the ball every now and then but we must keep pushing and trying to get it right.  I know that I am not the only one who sometimes are like me a lot of times mess up.  My message to you is. If you don't get it right the first time get back in there and keep trying until you succeed at what every you put your mind at to do.   You can do all  things through Christ that gives you the strength.  Peace out! Back And Better Than Ever

Hi Everyone!

Did you miss me? I know it has been awhile since I have blogged anything, I have no excuse.  I just have not taken the time to set down and write.  It is not for lack of not having things to write about, I am just lazy.  Well, with that said, I am going to do a quick run down of what I have been up to the past 5 months.  I helped my friend Ms. Fanny sale her gift baskets starting in February up until Mother's day in May.  She makes some of the most beautiful baskets I have ever seen.  I wish I had some pictures to show you.  She makes them for Valentine Day and for Easter and Mother's Day. Next time I will make sure I take some pictures to share with you.  Well, as I look back at it, helping Fanny with her baskets is mainly what I have been doing since my last blog.  It takes a lot of work  to do that.  Making them, wrapping them, tagging them and loading and unloading them.  Not to mention setting up the displays.  It is not easy, but we love every minute of it.  We thank God that it is over and we look forward to next year.

Now, I can throw myself back into my writing, I have so much that I need to finish.  I will just take my time and follow the leading of my heavenly father.  So, stay tuned, I am back and better than ever.  There is no telling what I will think up next.  Rest assured it will be intriguing and adventurous, just like I am.  So, please keep coming by my blog to check out what new and exciting thing that I am up too.  I speak peace and health and blessings to you and yours.  God bless you all.

Cyber Spaced Out

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you all have had a super blessed day today, I know I have, just knowing that my savior is still on the throne and all power is in his hands;  makes me want to shout.  Hallelujah! I think God for saving me.  Let's all give praise to the most high, who sits high and looks low; he allows the sun to shine on the just and the unjust.  He is alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.  Which was and is and is to come.  He is God all by himself;  he created all and is all. He is El-Shaddai, El-elon, Jehovah Jirah our provider. He is all that I need and will ever need.  Oh, nothing but a Holy Ghost party going on over here in Birmingham Al y'all. Got to love it! Oh! It was going to go something like this: I guess no one likes me out there in blog land no comments are any hints that anyone stopped by. New blog design

Hi everyone,  As you can see I change the appearance of my blog and man I tell you it was not easy.  I wish blogger came with instructions on how to load your pictures.  If they do, I sure haven't seen  them.  Well, I still couldn't get it the way that I wanted it, but it will have to do.  Well, we are down to the last few weeks or so too get those suggestions in for my new covers.  I am very sad to see that I don't have not one suggestion.  Even if I do get just one the raffle will be on.  Whether I do or not, I will have an awesome cover for my books because I have a few ideas of my own.  I just wanted everyone to get a chance in on getting the inside scoop on what my new books are about.  They are going to be super duper spectacularly good.  Just you watch and see, what my God is going to do for me.  Catch everyone later in blog land.  Peace!

Need Cover for new books.

Always Finish What you start

Hi everyone out there in blog land,

     I am happy to report that I have finally finish two book that I started two years ago.  I was determined to finish what I started.  I will be basically publishing them both around the same time.  One is a parallel story to the book of Ester in the bible, called "Lael"and the other one is a children's  book that I believe that one day will be a Walt Disney movie, the name for this one is "Queen Nyla."  They are fun and exciting and a joy to read, I just need to do some final editing and find a book cover designer and it is on.  Keep up with my progress through my blog and give me feedback on what you think my covers for both should look like.  I have samples and info about both books that will be featured on my blog.  I am excited and I hope that you will be to.  I am looking forward to your support during this journey with marketing and promoting my books.  In my last post, I mention that I will be having a random drawing for my Queen Nyla on February the 14th for any suggestions that you can give me to come up with  the perfect cover.  Just leave your suggestions here with your name and email addresses and I will enter you into the contest. Queen Nyla

Hi everyone, another day that the Lord has made, I hope that you all are rejoicing like I am rejoicing and glad in it?  I just want to let everyone know that soon I will have a new book out on the horzion.  I have placed a sample of it here to get an idea on how to do my cover for it.  Also, I would like your opinion on what age group this would be good for.  So, thank you in advance for your suggestions.   I will be looking to hear back from you. Queen Nyla

Queen Nyla, ruler of a vast kingdom; deep in the jungle of Mob.  She was revered and loved of all of Movibia.  Her Kingdom reached as far as the eye could see.  It was said that Queen Nyla, had a treasure that was so great and wondrous, that you would not believe your eyes if you saw it. 

     “But, that was many years ago, said Lucius, the squirrel.  One of the children that he was telling the story too   yawned. 

     “I suppose that no one is interested in my boring old tale?”

     The children answered.   “Please Lucius; finish telling us the story about Queen Nyla.” 

     “OK, if you all promise not to yawn anymore, I will tell you.” 

     “We promise, the children replied.” 

     “Alright here goes.  They say that the queen did not go anywhere, are see anyone, except for Numbe, the Demon king.  People were afraid to go near the castle, because they feared that Numbe had bewitched it.  So, day after day, the Queen sat alone in her castle, no visitors, no friends or family to talk too; only Numbe.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Numbe

Numbe comes to the castle; the Queen is sitting in her favorite chair by the window, in the parlor.

     “Numbe, where have you been?”  The Queen bellowed.

     “Oh, here and there, up and down and around.  Numbe must keep an eye on things you know.” 

   “Tell me Numbe, what did you see and hear? What are the people saying about me?”

     “Oh, Queenie dear, I am afraid the word is not good, they say that you are old and weak; not fit to be their Queen anymore.  Oh, and they say you’re ugly.”       

  “Ugly! The Queen sprung up out of her chair and almost fell over.

 “I'm not ugly; I'll show them who’s ugly.” 

     “Now, now, Queenie, temper, temper.  Let's show some tact, shall we, let them know you got class sister.” 

     “Oh, yeah, I got class, she said (as she shimmied around the room).”

      “You got soul.” 

Spending quality Time

Hi everyone, out there in blog land.

      I pray that everyone in well today? I had a very productive and blessed day today.  I got to spend it with my mother and father both, I went to the doctor's with my mom and I got a chance to spend some quality time with my father also.  He took me too the store and bought me a drill tool set, I know I am a woman but I love my tools just like everyone else doses.  This one is very cool,  it has everything I need to do any repair work around the house. 
     It is made by Black and Decker and it has a hammer, a pliers set, all the screw bits and saw attachments for drilling holes for door knobs.  It is great I can't wait to use it.  There is nothing like getting to spend time with your parents, I feel blessed to still have them.  They are both getting along in age now, my mother is 81 and so is my father.  I love them both so much, so I cherish the time that I have left with them.  So, if you are blessed to still have both of your parents still living; don't forget to give God the glory for such a blessing as that.  Here's wishing you all a very blessed and happy weekend. Handling stress and anxieties

Hi everyone out there in blog land,

Today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it, it is a day that we have never seen before and a day that we will not see again.  So, it is important that we redeem the time for the days are evil.  How many of you out there have noticed that time is going faster then it use too? I mean wow! 2012 is gone, and now we are faced with 2013.  I know many of you want to make every minute count, to do things differently then last year.  I myself want the same, but I know that it will not be easy.  It is so easy to fall back into old habits, so, you really have to work at it.  One thing for sure, we can't give up, even thou we may not succeed the first time; we pick ourselves up and start over again.  I have done that so many times I can not count it.  But, one thing I am sure of is that my Lord and savior is there for me, I would not be here if it wasn't for his protection and guidance, he has never left me are let me down.  In this new year, I know that many of you will be faced with stress and anxieties; here are a few tips that I have found to be helpful:

1. Light some candles when you take a shower or bath.
2. Listen to some soothing music, I recommend, gospel, praise music or classical.
3. Put rose petal in your bath  water.
4. Schedule time for yourself
5. Pray a lot.

Day Four Of the New Year

Hay, hay, hay,

How is your year going so far? I wish I could say that I am off to a good start, but you can tell that I am not.  By the fact that I missed two days writing on my blog, I really did not intend to do that.  I am working hard to improve that, because I want to be able  to make a difference in people's lives by sharing my faith and my experiences.  Well, my offer still stand, I will be more than happy to stand in prayer with anyone who needs someone to agree with them about any battles that they need God to help them with.  Facing a new year can be challenging and scary, not knowing what the future has in store for us.  All I can do is share with you some of the things that I have found to be useful in helping you to reach your goals and to accomplish new things in the new year:

1. Put God first, a life that is God-centered is well balanced.
2. Take time to pray before making any decisions about your life.
3. Finish what you start, even if you get side tracked; make up your mind that you will finish it.
4. Set goals, it is a good idea to set short-term goals and accomplish them, then set long-term goals.
5. Treat people the way that you want to be treated, this will open up endless possibilities for your life to be richly bless by God.
6. Take care of yourself, if you don't you won't be any good for you are anyone else.
7. Come to terms with the fact that you are not perfect and that God knows that you have foughts; just put your trust in him and he will see you through.
8. Don't ever give up on your dreams.
9. Fear is your enemy, fight it with Faith.

Perfect Peace

Hi everyone, out there in blog land; well today was the first day of the year 2013. I pray that everyone is off to a good start, one thing for sure if you have the Lord in your life; you can't go wrong.  God is still on the throne, all over the world things are looking pretty bad; but God said in his word, "if we keep our minds stayed on him he will keep us in perfect peace.  Now, I don't know about you but I want some of  that kind of peace that he is talking about; that perfect peace.  You can't get that kind of peace, anywhere else but through Christ Jesus.  He is the prince of peace, Wow! I just thought of something, you here people say all the time, if only there was peace in the world or they say the term " I want world peace".  Well, what I have to say to that is, the peace that you are seeking is right there, you only have to accept him and he will give you perfect peace.

     Okay, I want all my friends out there in blog land to give me feedback on what your New Year's Resolution is for this year.  Mines is to be more God-like and to eat healthier.  Also, I would like to open up to anyone who may want someone to pray for them, just post your pray request and I will be happy to pray for you.  I am a firm believer that pray changes things, and God does answer prayer.  I am a living witness, he always here's and answers me when I call him.  I know how it feels when you think that no one cares or that you feel that you are alone.  I am here to let you know that you are not alone, God is right there just waiting for you to cry out to him. So, leave those request here on my blog or you can email me at odraduke@yahoo.com; I will be more than glad to pray for you. I will let you know when I have prayed for you by answering your post or by emailing you back.   The word says "That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing, that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of  my father which is in heaven."  I know that the pray of agreement works, so please feel free to put in those request.  God Bless you and a very happy New Year all.
